»Without music, life would be a mistake.« Friedrich Nietzsche

Two guitars, two voices, harmonica and powerful dreamy tunes, can sometimes be enough to blow your mind. Vitis and Strier first met at a music shop in Tel Aviv. This was a short time after Vitis had returned to Israel from a 16-year stay in London, where he wrote, performed and recorded with local bands. He was signed to Fire Records (Pulp, Teenage Fanclub, Spaceman 3, Built To Spill) and later on to Organic Records. His albums got excellent reviews on some of the leading UK music magazines.

Omri Vitis was born and raised on Kibbutz Dalia in northern Israel. His unique and powerful voice has been often likened to singers such as Eddie Vedder, Bruce Springsteen and Leonard Cohen. In his songs, Middle eastern sounds mingle with western influences from bands such Simon and Garfunkel, Nirvana, Neil Young, Bob Dylan and others.

Guy Strier was born in Arad, a small desert town located above the slopes of The Dead Sea in southern Israel. He began playing guitar, drums and other musical instruments in his early childhood. After finishing his compulsory military service in Israel, Strier moved to Tel Aviv. With influences such as Jimmy Hendrix, Led Zeppelin and Cream, he soon became a leading guitarist on the Tel Aviv music scene. Strier is a full time session guitarist. These days he plays with some of the biggest international bands in Israel.

Strier's lush harmonies and powerful harmonica give Vitis' songs a comfortable, yet raw environment in which to live.

The two musicians recorded their debut album "Waterfall" in the summer of 2016. The second Album "Midnight Summer Dreaming" was released in May 2019 in Tel Aviv. Vitis & Strier's live sound as well as the albums' sound is authentic and simple.

The 19 years age difference between the two musicians is hardly felt when they play together, but may be one of the reasons for the wide range of audiences they seem to attract. They did six successful tours in Germany since September of 2016. On their tours they play to crowds of high school students as well as to much older crowds in venues, clubs, private houses, festivals, churches and synagogues.

Vitis & Strier seem to shine on big stages as well as in small and intimate rooms.
