greenXchange e.V. was established in the fall of 2020 to foster the exchange of German and Israeli young professionals in the field of#
sustainability. The association was founded by alumni of the greenXchange platform, an initiative by the Jewish National Fund (KKL-JNF) that ran from 2012 until 2019.
Our members take part in annual seminars where they learn about innovative technologies, environmental policy and green start-ups in both countries. Afterwards, they develop and pursue their own projects.
Additionally, greenXchange hosts other activities such as field trips or workshops on environmental topics.
With this approach, the program serves as a new basis for environmental cooperation between Israel and Germany and for exchange and understanding between young professionals of different cultural and professional backgrounds.
Germany’s former Minister for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety, about greenXchange in her speech at the Reception of the Israeli Embassy in Germany on May19th, 2015: “I am happy to see that the environmental dialogue between Israel and Germany stands on broad grounds. A good example for this is the greenXchange program, in which students, PhD candidates, and young professionals of both countries regularly compare notes about German and Israeli environmental projects.”
